The Agriturismo Cascino degli Ulivi set in the beautiful countryside of Le Marche is particularly well placed. Servigliano is on the main route between Porto San Giorgio and Amandola mid distance between the Sibillini Mountains and the sea and within easy reach of either.
The agriturismo is a large farmhouse built in the early 19th century. The house has five bedrooms for guests, all with en-suite bathrooms There's also an ample dining room, a bar and the farm shop.
The farmhouse is surrounded by over 2 hectares of fenced in gardens where you will find a number of outdoor games and activities provided for guests. These include the pool, a small football playing field, volley ball and bocce (a kind of Italian bowls now becoming very popular in the United States). All equipment, balls etc. are supplied. There is also space for archery with a steep bank on either side for safety. Target supplied but you will require your own equipment. Mountain bikes can also be hired on the premises.
You can relax by the agriturismo's large pool (23 x 8.5 metres) with well furnished solarium and changing room with toilets, showers and lockers. For the children there is a play area with park games close to the pool.
There are 2 nature walks around the agriturismo, one of which finishes with an ornithological hide for bird watching. Visitors also find the vegetable garden which supplies the agriturismo kitchen very interesting.
You may stay at the Agriturismo on a Bed and Breakfast or half board basis but for guests who prefer self catering, 2 angle kitchens are available. Outdoor dining facilities are offered in the shaded porch or the converted hayloft where the restaurant also serves meals in the summer months.
For B&B and self catering guests, evening meals can be pre-ordered at the Cascina restaurant where the cuisine is typical Marchegiani home cooking.
Amongst the staff - Italian, English, French, German and Spanish is spoken.
In the farm restaurant - the wine, the oil, the fruit, the vegetables, the eggs and the meat are all organically grown or raised on the farm. The home cooking at the Cascina is good and healthy and with a different menu each evening you are given the opportunity to discover traditional Marchegiane flavours and recipes with the awareness that you are eating really genuine, chemical free food. You can taste the "Vincisgrassi" (Marche version of lasagna), tagliatelle with juice of duckling, rabbit in porchetta, the onion and monachelli bean soups, casseroles, grills and roasts plus many other great dishes and flavours. For breakfast you are offered an ample choice of fruit juices, jams (all rigorously own production), sweets (among which home-made ciambellone) and fruit. A great way to start the day.
